When my wonderful friend, Mary, brought her family to the Cottage Garden for a playdate on Thursday, she was kind enough to tote a box of Luna Moths along to show us. What we did not expect was that two of these fascinating creatures would emerge from their cocoons right before our eyes! Here is a small sampling of the video we captured:
Wow, what amazing videos! We've never seen a luna moth before - let alone one hatching! They're beautiful! :)

Luna moths are such lovely creatures. Once, I caught a brief glimpse of a Luna fluttering near the eve lights at our house. It made me stop and catch my breath....so mysterious and so large...almost spectral!
