You know, as much as I would love for the Cottage Garden to develop into a serious science and nature blog (perhaps something Anna Comstock and Charlotte Mason-inspired, with a hefty dose of Gerald Durrell for good measure), I still cannot help sharing this picture.
When I came across these blossoms and blooms nestled in the mossy crags of a gnarled tree root, I thought the girls were collecting botanical samples for study, perhaps planning to sketch or preserve them later.
Nope, I was told right off the bat, it's a hair salon for dolls.
I suppose the purple camouflage bandana and narrow white scrungie should have been a dead giveaway.
LOL! Your girls are just like you: creative, funny and sweet!

Oh, a hair salon for dolls!
Now that is creative.
My girls often style their dolls' hair in the bathroom. I just know exactly what they're going to run off and do the minute they see this picture. : )

How perfectly wonderful and delightfully feminine! Isn't it great when the whole outdoors is one's playroom?

Oh, how sweet! Sometimes I wish my girls were more "girly" that way. Funny how they all turned out tomboy like their mommy! Oh, well, at least I can get my dose of girlishness vicariosly through you and yours!
