I am overwhelmed by (and thrilled to read) these extremely kind and heartfelt Haystack reviews [posted here in chronological order]:
A review by Mary Gildersleeve, author of Great Yarns for the Close-Knit Family.
A review by Nancy Brown, author of The Mystery of Harry Potter, The Father Brown Reader, and GK Chesterton study guides.
A review by Jenn Miller of Family in Feast and Feria.
Mary, Nancy, and Jenn--thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I just want to say that I LOVE Haystack Full of Needles!
When I saw that it was published, I thought I'd go ahead and get it but figured that it may be quite a while before I get through it. You know, lots of homeschool planning and kids' books to sift through first. (I have all sorts of books I still haven't gotten all the way through. I tell my husband they're all improving the R-value of our house though!)
Once I started looking through your book, however, I could barely put it down (forcing a pause only to take care of my family) and read the whole thing throughout the course of a day.
I love all of your ideas and suggestions, have been involved in a group (Little Flowers) that you mentioned, and appreciate that everything is based on such goodness and revolves around the liturgical year.
What I really like is that the way you've written it, a mother can create something similar (not necessarily exactly like yours) that will fit her family needs and situations.
It's a real gem, and I hope you don't mind if I add it to my suggested list of homeschooling resources (in my Amazon widget). Your blog is already on my sidebar!
Thank you once again for your gift of writing and supporting all of us Catholic homeschooling families! Bless you.
