At midnight tonight, one of my favorite spots on the internet, A Gypsy Caravan, will be no more. Of course, Rebecca, the wonderful woman who writes it, will always be a huge part of my life, but, oh, how I will miss the adventures of Locksley, Lionheart, Caddie, and Bella, not to mention Rebecca's other lovely blogs, Babylove--her tribute to All Things Baby--and Heart of the Kitchen--a kitchen blog that is more than a mere collection of recipes. It is a record of love and family ties that cross the generations.
I wish I had written this post days ago, because these links will only work for a few more hours. If you are fortunate enough to be reading this before then, now is your chance to see a few of my favorite posts. There are countless others, of course, but time is of the essence, so here is but a small handfull:
A Visit with Kathryn: Slowing the Pace
Thank you, Rebecca, for giving of yourself so freely to all of us for over a year. This last minute attempt at something approaching a tribute to A Gypsy Caravan is paltry compared to what your writings have meant to so many. (I plan on offering Mass and Communion for you tomorrow in thanksgiving.)
You are more wonderful than words can say!
It was a very nice tribute, Alice, and a thoughtful gesture.

Alice, I can't thank you enough for your kind words. You have brought a smile to both my face and my heart!
Love,
Rebecca

Agreed. We love you, Rebecca! Plan on us all showing up on your doorstep unannounced by way of protest! ;)
I would like to join Alice in offering up my Holy Hour tomorrow for your intentions. Trust your heart, dear Rebecca, because it is there that God is speaking to you. Trust trust trust; God is good and we are so much more than our blogs! Which is not to say that I don't LOVE staying in touch with all you ladies, (because I DO), but rather...family is always first.
As my husband says to me when I'm clacking away, "I'm real! That's not." :)

I concur, Rebecca!
You're a delight to know!

Thank you ladies for your kindness! The blog is still up for a few more days until the end of my Typepad billing period (which does not end cleanly on the last day of the month as I originally thought). I will use these days to try to figure out how to save some posts for my family's scrapbook. I am having some trouble learning to maneuver/export from Typepad.
Thank you for offering prayers and Mass--the most meaningful gifts anyone could give.
Love,
Rebecca

Rebecca, I am thrilled to hear we have a few days left, because I would like to save the blog as a web archive on my computer. This will be my project for tonight!

I enjoyed reading the links Alice and your 'project' sounds like a good idea!
