Thank you for the lovely exalmple. It compliments something I read about gift giving and that is "the best gifts cannot be wrapped."

I think you must have read some minds... I couldn't find cubes in the UK, so your suggestions are very welcome.

I love your ideas, and beautiful pictures with pink toile cloth in the background. A treat for the eyes!

You certainly read my mind, Alice. I just finished my Advent post, and had planned all along to encourage mothers not to despair! :-) You've put it so beautifully!

Great ideas!!! I love that Mary Cassatt picture in the background of several of your photos of the paper cubes. I have it framed on my wall.

These are beautiful suggestions Alice, I'm trying to figure out how to display my Cubes as we don't have many flat surfaces for our sewn felt Jesse Tree, I'm think of making the cubes into ornaments maybe for next year to do the Thanksgiving tree transformation idea!!! Thanks so much for your ever insightful advice!!

Thank you, Alice. A post dear to my own heart - simplicity is the essence of Advent, even in my busy household. Lovely ideas!

Alice, I'm so glad you posted this. I will put on my blog how we made our cubes. Meredith, I just hot glued a loop of yarn to the cubes to hang from our Jesse Tree.
