"I always see the happy faces Smiling at the door* The kettle swinging on the crook* As I step upon the floor.* And soon the tay-pot's fillin' up* Me cup that's far from small* For your hearts are like your mountains* In the Homes of Donegal." (From "The Homes of Donegal" by Sean MacBride, a traditional Irish folk song)We are almost seven weeks into the school year, and there is something every Mother needs right about now--a nice hot cup of tea! Please take a moment to invite some other Moms over for an evening of tea and cake and the Rosary. Now is the time to do this before Thanksgiving and Advent and Christmas take their rightful places centerstage.
Make the gathering as relaxing as possible by inviting only mothers and nursing babies and encouraging everyone to bring along a pretty teacup (if you do not have a large set) and cake or cookies to share. Do not worry about what your house looks like, because mothers--especially Catholic homeschooling mothers--look only with the eyes of love. Ask Dad to put the children to bed while you and these dearest of friends say the Rosary for your children and enjoy one another's company without any agenda whatsoever.
You will be very glad you did!
Beautiful! I had homeschooling Moms over every Friday night in May for this exact reason. A time to pray, be together and eat...what better way to spend an evening with friends. God bles!

I love the idea of having some friends over for tea. Can you catch a flight to Cleveland, Alice? :)

What a wonderful time this would be, to have a houseful of similarly minded ladies. A lovely idea.

What a beautiful idea, perfect to honor Our Lady of the Rosary ~ and I can certainly use some friendship and tea. Thanks for the inspiration Alice! (and Jenn for linking to here!)
